Finding extra time from the busy life is perhaps a futile attempt to create. So one day, when me and my friends had this long afternoon of just going out and instead of finding our way to the mall we took a little ride from Bacolod City down to the Banago Port. What's special about this one?

Well most of the boat trips in Philippines (passing or departing in Bacolod) would eventually be in this port. From Bacolod to Banago port would take you around 10 minutes. And upon arrival, you can see the very long road from the entrance down to the port. Most of the Negros Navigation, Sulpicio and big shipping lines here in our country would often reside their big ships in this place.

What amazed me is that a lot of people here do “stay” to either catch some fish, watch the sunset, have fun or bathe in the sea. The Banago port is the Bacolod City’s access to other cities all over Philippines, in a ship-trip way (and more cheaper than the plane flights).

From the gate going to the port, you can see some people with nipa houses living in the side of the seashore. Some are fishermen, and fishing is what they do for living. Banago Port is quite scary because you’ll be walking in a bridge-like road straight to the port where you can find the arrival and departure area. It is maintained by most of the people who work under Negros Navigation, a shipping line here in Philippines.
