Behind the Walls of Pingyao...

One of the best preserved walled cities in China simply could not be missed (yeah, we still are on our trip through China, slowly moving from from the North to the South :).

The very beloved by Chinese and international tourists city is relatively very small in population (~40000) and compact in size. Enjoy exploring the narrow streets, peeping into the countless backyards and walking around or on the 10 meters high city walls.

The Chinese side of the kitchen is famous by steamed meat and local rolled noodles with vinegar sauce. If you want to refresh yourself with the home-like food like pizza – there are several cafe in western style.

In short, if you want a rest in an old-fashioned but very energetic city that combines hospitality (not without a slight tradeoff of a touristic city) and authentic atmosphere – Pingyao is your perfect destination for at least two complete walking-n-eating days :)
