St Nicholas Fair - York

Well in the run up to Christmas York gets absolutely mental with the rush of the christmas fair. Everyone wants to go on the fantastic helter-skelter, merry-go-round and hook-a-duck along with the attractions for families and children, combined with the christmas market York is swarming with festivities and those hungry for roast chestnuts and warm mulled wine!
My dad – like the scrooge that he is – had warned me that town would be hectic and that i should avoid it at all costs, but regardless i donned a few layers of warm clothing, some snug fitting ugg boots and headed for town with Holga, Diana and the brand new lubitel in tow.
Approaching where the fair was i could hear the fair above the usual shopping rumbles, the sound of christmas music in the crisp air, getting discreetly louder as i approached. the scent of mulled wine, spices combined around me as though it was christmas day and my dinner was served! but enough of making your mouths water – as mine is as i type this! The christmas faire proves a great opportunity for photographs, People of all ages, some rushing, some pondering, some happy, some not so.
Just the thought of christmas makes me happy… and i want to share with you my happy day at the christmas faire in york (even though most around me never smiled)
