Small Dune and Laguna Beaches Sinai, Egypt

Sinai was for decades known by its spacey wild sea beaches, where infrequent visitors and couples where able to seclude from the civilization, to spend at least a few days in a shelter of branches and to enjoy delicious Bedouin and Egyptian food.

Unfortunately, nowadays more and more luxurious hotels are taking an advantage and plenty of touristic shops and restaurants now cover the areas, where only camels could go before.

Nevertheless, a few true-Sinai beaches still exist and preserve the nostalgic atmosphere of the non-forgotten times. Big and Small Dunes (yeah, those are the names) are the best places to find some rest, watching the sea and enjoying to communicate with Bedouin children (don’t forget to bring some candies – the presents are very expected :) The Dunes are easily reachable from Noweiba or from the Taba border control (if you come from Israel).

Another place which is very far from every where is Laguna beach – a windy place for the true anchorites – you can get to there from Dahab city.

Besides watching the sea and diving to coral riffs, ask for the locals to bring you to see the sunset from one of the local mountains, visit the Bedouin villages and, to improve the shape, take a guild and go trekking (camels will carry all the luggage should you only ask).

5 to 7 peaceful quiet days apart from everywhere and you won’t recognize yourself in the crowded cities – the places where you’ve just came from less than a week ago.

FOOTNOTE (for the readers): If you managed to get there – PLEASE do anything you can to keep the atmosphere just like it is, since really a few places of that kind are left at the time of writing.
