Luxembourg, Luxembourg. A small country in Europe with unknown beauty and wonderful places to see. Here I will only talk about the Capitol of Luxembourg. Which in fact calls itself Luxembourg as well. The City has an population of about 85'000 inhabitants. Which makes it a very small city but still there's a lot to see. Also Luxembourg City is very close to cities like Brussels, Paris, Cologne,... . So should you ever be close to Luxembourg don't hesitate to give it a try.

The City was founded in 963, it is very old and you will see traces of it’s rich heritage everywhere. Also one part of the City called “Gronn” is a UNSECO world Heritage. You can go out in this part or just have a chilled afternoon drink there. Close to this place is a newly opened area which was part of an old Brewery. Now you can find there Offices, Clubs, Bars and even parking spaces ;) . (Have a Drink or two at a Bar called “VERSO” my favorite)

You can stroll around in the whole city as its not very complicated to find your way, in the summer you can hang out in one of the several park areas or just have a nice Ice Cream close to the “Place d’armes”.

5 years ago Luxembourg was a horrible place to buy clothes…but nowadays the situation has changed. Nice shops are “Hello Beluga, Nude, Extra Bolt”. You can find anything there form Swedish Brands to Neon Colored shirts!

To give you a slight idea why I like this city so much if give YOU my “walking tip” and what you should check out when you arrive. Of course best place to start is the Train station. Which is a very nice building. Then you should walk to the old city and cross one of the two gigantic bridges. Go and see the “Gold Women” or how we call it “Gëlle Fra”. There you will also have a very nice view over the Valley. Then head to the “Palais Grand-Ducale”. Remind, nothing is really far away here :)…

After that you can go to one of the several Museums or you just have a fine Dinner. And again I will give you my favorite restaurant in town ;) It’s Called El Companero and they serve Cuban Italian food. Very nice and friendly stuff. It’s just behind the “Palais Grand-Ducale” where you might also find more restaurants and bars…

If you ever wanna see Luxembourg and you want more information’s about it, just write me a message on Lomography.com, and I will try to help you.

Eddi an Merci
