Angkor Wat Siam Reap, Cambodia
written by fangcarpenter on December 1st, 2008 , 5 comments (2 votes)

I went to Cambodia with my friends a couple of weeks ago.. Angkor Wat temple complex was definitely the main part of our visit, we didn’t travel around Cambodia aside from Siem Reap.

We arranged our trip at the agency in Khaosan Road and paid 3000 baht including transportation and Hotel accommodation in Siam Reap..We travelled for 12 hours by land from Bangkok to Cambodia ,including layover. We spent just 1 day visiting some of the temples and of course the Angkor Wat. I got too excited that I brought too many cameras with me,that includes my Horizon ,LCA+ ,LCA ,fisheye2 and an SLR.

We Started our day touring the outer walls of Angkor Wat to Bayon Temples. At lunch time there were a lot of kids selling postcards and books. They were very smart ..I was quite impressed that they could speak English. They would ask you what country you came from and then give you all this information ,like the capital of your country or the capital of Madagascar.

After Lunch we went to see more temples then between 2-3 p.m. we headed to the majestic Angkor Wat. According to our tourist guide it’s best to go here in the afternoon so we could see the reflection of the temple from the man made lake outside the temple..And it so true ..the sight filled me with awe and took a lot of pictures..

I've been there 2 years ago with my Horizon202, a bit the same trip you made : Khao San Road...

You have to slide the film under the 2 rolls of your Horizon when loading, to avoid blurry corners.
