Pulau Pinang is famous for it’s delicious food and also it’s beach. The beach is what Batu Feringgi famous for. The beach itself is quite good, thought not up there with Malaysia’s best and the water is not of the tropically clear variety you might expect. The beach is kept clean.

Batu Feringgi was believed to have been named after the Portuguese word for ‘Foreigners’ Rock’, as the Penang Island was once fought over by many colonial powers including the British, Dutch and Portuguese.

Batu Feringgi’s is Penang Island’s most popular beach destination for tourists and locals. This long stretch of sandy beach is home to a wide range of resorts, shopping opportunities and water sports.

A daily night market takes place in Batu Feringgi, which is another major draw besides the beaches. The most famous and must-go spot in Penang Island.
