The Kota Tinggi Waterfall

Where would be the best place to visit when the weather is so hot and you are longing for a “colder” place? It’s like summer everyday at Malaysia. During the time when we are hot, usually we just find a nice comfy air-conditioning room, for a drink with some close friends. But why not we step out of this air-con room and breathe the fresh air instead?

Waterfalls. It’s cold and refreshing, and you gonna love this place! Kota Tinggi Waterfalls is where we headed to during our gathering at Johor Bahru. The Kota Tinggi Waterfall is located 62 km away from Johor Bahru, and 16 km away from Kota Tinggi. The waterfall, which is 36 m high, originates from the top of Mount Panti.

The entrance fee to the waterfalls is rather expensive than other waterfalls. It costs an unbelievable entrance fee of RM 9 per person. But there are a lot of facilities included a well maintained slides make the place look like a water park, a dam has been built in the stream to generate a big swimming and wading pool, a souvenir shops and a cafe. Besides that there are public changing rooms and camping grounds at the base of the waterfall. There is also a restaurant nearby that provides both Chinese and Western food. Food stalls are set up here as well. A camping ground has also been opened for those who wish to camp out. There are parking spaces available for cars, buses and motorcycles as well. I bet the facilities provided is worth more than the entrance fee.

The waterfall area is a great place to have family picnics, but the place can get crowded during the weekends. I think that the best part of the trip, is to witness an authentic waterfall. The scenery is awesome and it’s the a perfect place to cool down on a hot day!
