Bo-Kaap is the most colorful area of Cape Town. Immigrants from all around the Globe used to settle here since the 17th century.
Together with District 6, which was demolished by the apartheid authorities, Bo-Kaap used to be a lullaby for everything: jazz, political movement for equal rights, mafia, and many more. As it has a lot of Mosques, it was considered to be a Muslim district. But things changed. The area became very popular with young professionals due to it super central location, so now days once again it is truly a cultural melting pot. And, with Lion’s Head mountain on one side and magnificent view on the Table mountain- you can’t imaging better place to be with you Lomographic camera in one hand and freshly made local Samosa in another.
