The Coconut Palace, Manila
written by icuresick on November 14th, 2008 , 2 comments (1 vote)

The majestic views of Manila Bay sunset makes The Coconut Palace amongst the favorite venues for receptions and weddings in the Philippines.

Located at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex in Manila, The Coconut Palace is made of several types of hardwood, coconut shells and other indigenous materials. It has been recognized for its unique idea and intricate design. The planning and concept of the structure were based on the characteristics of the coconut tree, like Strong and could withstand powerful winds and typhoons. Majority of the furniture was made from coconut lumber and coconut shell (chandelier).

Fortunately, I was able to celebrate my birthday here for free during a Wedding Fair, because the company I was working for was one of the exhibitors. Without much fanfare and much to my dismay, Coconut Palace has closed for now. There is rumor of it becoming a casino and a Hotel.
