Santorini Island in Greece
written by dogma on November 11th, 2008 , 7 comments (1 vote)

This summer I had luck to visit one of the most beautiful places in the world – Santorini Island. I was shocked when I saw that incredible view when I step out of the boat. Thousands white-blue, small houses where sitting on the edge of high, rocky, lava, mountain.

Local people told me a three legend about this island. First: In this island there is more whine then water. Second: In this island there is more church then living houses. Third: In this island lives more donkeys then citizens. And the funny thing is that all three legends are true I assured that when I was walking in town Oia and town Thira. I have spend there whole day, but it felt like one hour. If you ever gone visit Santorini don’t leave it without trying Santorini salads with Visento wine and seeing a sunset. Sweetness of wine and taste of food will lift you till heaven, and incredible view of sunset you will remember all your live.

Greek islands is propably one of the few regions in the whole world where Lomography can't give tha extra emotion it usually gives in it's photos.

I saw your photos, some of them are really nice, but honestly, dou you think you captured the very soul of this island? Did you capture the absolute white of the buildings, the absolute blue of the sea and the sky or the magical orange coloured wall painted by the sunset?

I don't think so, Lomography can actually make things look better, but when it comes to pure beauty ... all you need is reality, not an altered version of it...

I captured what i saw and every picture came from my heart. And if we would talk about reality, tell me can you control results of X-process? :)

I love the x-pro pictures! For me they underline the beauty of the Greek Islands! Sure you could've taken a normal film and then show the "real" blue, white, green, orange. But I like it more like this, in x-pro
