Zanmai Sushi is my favorite Japanese restaurant in town. A very nice and reasonably priced Japanese restaurant in Sunway Pyramid shopping complex in Bandar Sunway. The food is great and the ambiance is perfect. Zanmai Sushi separated a section for smoking area, which is corner with window view.
Designed with conveyor concept, guest can sit there pick whatever sushi on conveyor belt. Besides, there’s display kitchen, you can view how’s the chef working in the kitchen. Menu with plenty of choices, a la Carte or set option.
Although they’re touted as conveyor belt sushi outlet, there are ample tables and seats around the restaurant that make it a comfortable dining experience.
Go through their extensive menu filled with tantalizing photos of the food slowly, as you’ll find yourself wanting to try everything from their 100 varieties. Once you’ve decided, place your orders with the wait staff that use specially adapted Dell hand held computers. You can even observe the kitchen through the clear glass wall next to the conveyor belt.
Working through their menu, you’ll notice favorites with a mix of unusual items. There’s quite a lot of usage of ikura, those salty red fish eggs in a few items. It’s used as an unusual topping for the chawan mushi and if you love these eggs, you can even order one bowl of it to indulge as an appetizer.
Finish off your meal with a selection of desserts. Although they look like they came from the freezer counter of Japanese food supplier Shojikiya next door, there are a few that are made in the restaurant.
A wonderful place to dine in, a place must visit if you are a Sushi lover!
