Pedrogão Grande Camping

Pedrogão Grande is located in the West Leiria District near Castelo Branco, in the central interior of Portugal.The Pedrogão Grande Camping lays very close to a big water dam, it is a very simple camping, no great luxury, just nature excellent weather and yourself, this camping park follows the calm and simple way of life of the locals, time passes by very slowly in Pedrogão Grande.

The camping park has got its own pool but I prefer to use the floating pool in the river, it’s only a few meters away from the camping, you can also rent a boat, jet sky, canoes, etc… One of the things I like the most is the very close contact to nature and the magnificent view from the camping to the river; I also like the restaurants nearby, they serve great traditional dishes, and the villages nearby, they look like time just stopped, you can see ancient stone houses everywhere, the architecture haven’t changed for hundreds of, you can still find an old Roman bridge in perfect conditions.

It is a great place to rest, do some water sports , river fishing and also to take some amazing nature and water sports photos, I have already taken dozens of photos with my Supersampler but I cant wait to go back there with my LCA and burn some films.

I used to spend part of my vacations in Pedrogão Grande every year but I haven’t gone there for about two years, I’m starting to miss that place and those friendly locals.
