Bacolod Masskara Festival
written by ethermoon on October 25th, 2008 (1 vote)

Well if you felt like Mardi Gras was the talk of the town every year in the Bourbon Street somewhere in Brazil, you may have fun also in Bacolod City where they celebrate the Masskara Festival (Mask Festival) every October!

Coined as “the Mardi Gras Festival of the Philippines”, Masskara Festival showcases brilliant, lovely and colorful festivity in the country! Masks, capes, smiling faces, lovely music; they all come together in a two-day celebration. Dancing around the streets, party, electric light show on evenings, fun, fun and more fun!

So if you’re on a trip around the world this October, come visit Bacolod City! It’s a 45 to 1 hour plane trip from Manila. And oh - don’t forget your camera and your slides! The more colorful the celebration, the more colorful your snapshots will be!
