Mostly when I go on a journey by airplane I use to start at Munich Airport. It is the nearest airport to the place where I live and the one with the best directions. Near these convenient things it is an airport with a fantastic design where your waiting time spins away by watching the great architecture, in comfortable cafes or in the several kinds of shops you can find there.

The airport is situated 28km away from Munich and it was put into operation in 1992 after the Airport Munich-Riems’ capacity became too low. It is after the Airport in Frankfurt Germany’s second largest airport (in terms of its importance concerning aviation).
Concerning the architecture my favourite place is the MAC (Munich Airport Centre) – it is the interconnection between terminal 1 and terminal 2 and was designed by Helmut Jahn, Murphy/Jahn Inc. Architects, Chicago. Look at the photos and you will know why…
