Paredes Beach, Alcobaça

Paredes beach is located in the central Portuguese Atlantic cost, between Nazaré and São Pedro de Moel, it is one of my favorite places to relax and to take some photos, the village is very simple but it has some of the best restaurants for those who like seafood, in the summer is packed with tourists that seek wonderful, sunny and sandy beaches.
The village beach usually is a bit crowded in the summer but the beaches located at north and south of the village are completely untouched by the man and less crowded, in fact, you can have a very quiet and peaceful day on those beaches. A few years ago, the Atlantic catwalk was built, linking the surrounding beaches; you can travel by foot or bike between beaches crossing beach sandy dunes, cliffs and pine tree woods, it also has several rest places where you can relax and enjoy the amazing view. I use to go to this catwalk when I want grab my Supersampler and take some photos of landscapes, nature photos or paragliders, that’s right, paragliders; this place is one of the most used spots for paragliding, the windy cliffs and beautiful landscapes are perfect for the practice of paragliding, if the weather is good, all you have to do is sit and wait a bit, soon the skies will be filled with Para-gliders, it is a beautiful thing to see, the yellow sandy beaches, the blue sea and the blue skies with colorful wings slowly passing by.
Be careful when you go to Paredes beach, you may never want to leave.
