I wasn’t aware that there is seaside at the Songkhla, till I found it on the map during my trip to Hadyai. Without hesitate, I asked a local business women of how to get there. A ride on a van or bus only takes roughly 30 minutes and it’s only around cost around 30bath. I still remember my first impression towards Songkhla was – a small peaceful town.

There is so many universities and collage along the main road. I feels like so comfortable seeing so many student walking around. When we reached the drop off place, we walk around and found a very comfortable guest house, The Amsterdam Guest House. It’s only cost roughly about 200 bath per night for a room. It’s clean and comfortable. We spent 2 nights there.

Then we rent a bike and have a ride around Songkhla. With only a map on hand, we look for places of interest of Songkhla. We saw a lot of different types of interesting stuff by biking around. The thing I love the most about Songklha is – the friendly people. We stop by a lot of places and asking for direction, all of them are very helpful and trying to explain everything clearly by using English. Some even offering to help us to take pictures.

We found a lot of interesting places, temples, look out point, monkey park and a very big outdoor sleeping Buddha statue and not to forget a very long beach, The Samila beach. There are a lot of students and people hang out at the beach. Seeing them laying on the grass, playing kite, eating, drinking beer, spending time with friends and family, life seems to be so peaceful and relax.

The trip had charged my body, physically and mentally. I’m now ready for getting back to the real life and work hard.
