Lofoten is a group of islands in the north of Norway. Despite being north of the arctic circle the atmosphere is warm and the nature is wild and beautiful with white sandy beaches and steep mountains. The people there are humorous and open (more so than the rest of the Norwegian population, it seems!

They all look you in the eye when you walk past them.) The village of Unstad where these photos are taken is especially famous for being the arctic surf camp! Camping site and surfing on the beach highly recommended.

I remember I've saw one amazing tv reportage about the Lofoten island on the italian television, this photo set well capture the energy and the "severity" of that islands. very nice!

That's where I usually go surfing when I'm back home in northern Norway. Amazing surroundings and a peaceful place on earth.
