Levoca oldtown

Levoca is nothing special when you’re looking to the map of eastern Slovakia. If you are traveling in this area (national parks, castles and so on), it would be a crime not to stop in the Levoca town. Take a break near the gate of Kosice, which is a monument and of course the main doors to the old town treasures of this beautiful town.
Levoca is a true museum of Renaissance buildings: from the lively town hall and church till the ancient walls. You can have a lunch in the center park of it, near the fountains and this is a place from where you can see how this fairy tale village is living. Just near the park there is a church, inside which you can find the tallest wooden altar of the whole Europe. There is also an old monastery of the Minorities, now incorporated into a Church grammar school. Nearby is the town’s Polish Gate, a Gothic construction of the 15th century. And so on and so on… I just could not believe that I did not hear about this place when I was planning my tour in Slovakia. This is a super natural lively old town of this area, and you just have to visit it.
