Cemetery of Zapallar

This place is very especial, close to the tranquility typical of a cemetery there adds the beautiful environment of former pines, cliffs and the blue of the pacific ocean. This little cemetery is located in the central littoral of Chile, between two resorts, Zapallar and Papudo. The area was donated in 1936 by Carlos Ossandón, old visitor of Zapallar's city.

This little cemetery is located in the central littoral of Chile, between two resorts, Zapallar and Papudo. The area was donated in 1936 by Carlos Ossandón, old visitor of Zapallar’s city.

The cemetery is surrounded by former pines and possesses only a principal street, which also is surrounded with them. The tombs become in base of stones and in the main they are covered for little shells. It is necessary to emphasize that here there is buried the famous Chilean writer Jose Donoso, author of " The Coronation " among many other books. The sunsets in this place are wonderful, ideal to spend a good moment among friends, relatives or by yourself.

You can come by car or bicycle for the principal road and any moment of the year is good to visit this place, in the winter you have a nostalgic atmosphere and in the summer the blue of the sea invites you to spend hours admiring the waves striking the cliffs.
