Down By the Riverside (Ötztal Bahnhof)

When it is getting warmer outside and the sun shines until late in the evening my favorite place to be is down by the riverside, about five minutes to walk from where my apartment is situated. The river is called Inn and it is the main river flowing through Tirol, the name of the province I live. There are lots of silent coves where you can only hear the rushing water, maybe some birds singing and insects buzzing. When I decide to go there I take a blanket to sit on with me because in early summer it is sometimes a little bit cold and moist. From time to time I make a picnic on the beach and then I surely pack some delicious food into my bag.
When I am on my favorite cove I often read a good book or I am just lying on my blanket gazing up to the blue sky and letting my mind wander. But I do not always go there alone. In summer, when the sun is shining until late in the evening and the nights are mild my friends and me often have a barbecue at the riverside. We start a bonfire, barbecue some sausages, potatoes and bread, drink some beer and have fun.
Then we are there until we can’t find any wood anymore and the fire is going out. It is always very relaxing and atmospheric and after such a day you are full of energy again and your head is clearer than before.
