Central Point

The city of Central Point, located in Southern Oregon about 40 minutes from California, is home to just over 17,000 people. My parents moved us here when I was 3 years old in order to raise me in a clean environment, free of smog, with low crime rates and a good school system. Like many people, I am a traveler at heart and have spent a good deal of my life yearning to get out of this town and explore the rest of the world, assuming that this small city is boring compared to all the other places I could be. But during this last year of so of my life, I have begun doing some of that traveling and realized that Central Point is a wonderful place to come home to.

One particular quality about this city that many people (especially parents) can appreciate is the abundance of public parks. Between school playgrounds and city parks, with tennis courts, play structures and public bathrooms, there is a wide variety of safe and fun places to take your kids and enjoy a day in the sun.

When taking road trips, we are always searching for exits that look appealing and trying to discover towns that can become our new favorite places to stop and fill up on gas in. I can only imagine how thrilled I would be to be traveling and in need of a place to rest for a while and stumble upon Central Point.

I am a HUGE fan of playground pictures, and I find your doubleexposures of the playground equipment especially inspirational! Awesome work.

Thanks dirklancer for the comment. I find myself constantly migrating back to the playgrounds for more pictures even when I've already taken as many as I thought I could.

I know what you mean...there is a playground that I was at several years ago (prior to my recent affair with lomography - when I thought digital was all the rage) that I am dying to get back to. Too bad it was a 30 hour drive...
