The Stuibenfall is the highest waterfall in Tirol (256m high) which you can find a little bit outside the village Umhausen situated in the Ötztal. It is a very impressing an unforgettable natural spectacle and very easily to reach.

Start your walking tour at the (chargeable) parking site. To reach it, follow the signs which can be seen beside the street through the village or ask somebody living there. Then it’s time to leave your car and start your tour by foot. First you pass a little restaurant but you don’t stop for a bite to eat because – please remember – you are here to see the Stuibenfall. Maybe on your way back! The next thing which maybe could be interesting for you is the Ötzimuseum where the historical surrounding of the man from the ice called Ötzi is reconstructed. I’ve never been there because I don’t like such pseudo-historical spectacles. I found it more interesting to go inside an old abandoned house which you can find beside the way up to the waterfall inside the wood.

After about 30 minutes the waterfall comes into your sight and you can enjoy this spectacle. But that’s not all. You can also walk up on a little steep-track where you can get very close to the Stuibenfall and watch the power of the water rushing down. You have also a breathtaking view to the mountains and down to the Ötztal (the valley, where Umhausen is situated).
