Beli-Iskar

Nestled in the heart of the RIla mountains you will find Beli-Iskar. A sleepy village with a population of about 900. We were in the area with a friend so he took around the village and the local area. If you go in winter its cold………REALLY COLD!!! When we were there it was about -20 degrees Celsius and when I got out the car I got the same brain freeze sensation I get when I eat ice cream, just without the ice cream.

There is a lake near called Tsigov Chark and that was completely frozen over. It even had people sitting on the ice fishing through cut holes. Not for me but I’m glad someone was enjoying it. If you are going, bring a coat and some snow shoes and some sugar cubes for the gypsy horses.
