Sentosa Beach

You know these moments, where you are totally at ease and in your mind there won´t be any other place you would like to be but the very one you are at? I love those moments and I had it once with Sentosa in Singapore. It is an artificial Beach-Area a bus ride from the City, which formerly was a military base. But the impression is perfect and we just heard afterward, that what we experienced is absolutely made by man.
Like the sheiks in Dubai did the officials in Singapore understand what tourist love most: Beach! That’s why they have created this wonderland, which will be a kind of Disney Adventure park in the next years. But right now it has the perfection of a Caribbean island.
I was in Singapore for work and we skipped the program for some hours. Arriving at the beach we couldn’t believe it. Not only that the sun was bright and the sky was blue. This was a Caribbean dream come true with hot sand underneath your soles. Opposite to the shore we saw a little island and decided to swim there. Putting our feet on Gullivers island meant something for our diet as well. We seriously found two coconuts and served it for lunch. The nuts are nuts.
Probably every morning a officer from the tourist board is swimming over to this island with his suit and with tie, coffee-mug and leather-bag and drops two coconuts in the sand. After that he goes to the office and does his paper-work!
How to reach: by feet you can walk the 710 m long Causeway bridge. Or you rent a car and drive to the island. Best way would be by bus, you can take line A, which goes every 10 minutes from World Trade Center and is just about 1 S $. Or Line C from Metro station Tiong Bahru.
