Lamma Island is a great place to get away from the busy Hong Kong crowds and hectic street life. For a relaxing afternoon on a small beach, this is the place to be!
A small, quiet place with no cars, a few trails that make a nice trek, quiet beaches, souvenir shops and excellent seafood restaurants. There is plenty to see and experience in a single day. For lomographers, i would advise the 1st beach (the one without a shark net), with a big industrial factory in the background.
We spent the whole afternoon chilling on the beach and in the evening we had a great fresh seafood meal at the first restaurant you see once you get off the ferry. It was the most memorable time of our stay in Hong Kong! To get there, take the ferry on the pier just next to Star Ferry at Central (pier number 4). It’s cheaper on weekdays than weekends and the trip should take about half an hour. For all you travelers that pass through Hong Kong, this is a must see!
