Piazza San Marco (Venezia)
1 Share TweetIt is the center of the city, the city of water: Piazza San Marco in Venezia. I am not easily blown away, but Venezia has got the something that makes refrain and thinks: ’ it is awesome to be here at the moment!`. Besides the whole water-thing this very spot is outstanding.

The whole square is massively conquered by doves and adjacently with thousands of tourists and you keep thinking, which is the greater menace. But what can I say: I am one of that crowd, too. These doves were probably thrown at people once they were born, hence they are not afraid at all. Greedy for food they are climbing onto people and have only eyes for the corn in the hands of their masters. I thought this is very entertaining and I have never seen something alike. I imagine it must have been the same in the sixties.
As the first blond and nicely shaped European tourist came to Italy and the local gigolos were all over them.;) Or something like that. Also the architecture of the square makes one dream of ancient carnivals and glorious mercenary times. The piazza is already over 1000 years old It all comes together there and almost every way in the old town leads to piazza San Marco.
