Esteron River (Carros)

Fed up with the beach and touristic crowd of the french riviera?? So why don’t you go to the river? I got a very special place to go, revealing a secret place known by a very few people… It’s the little river called “Esteron”, about 40 min from Nice by car, and perhaps not easy to find the first time… that’s why very few people know it!

So, how do you get there? Departure from Nice, take the N202 road from the airport, direction north to Digne and Grenoble. Drive about 15-20 km along the right side of the “Var” river to the village of “Carros”. There you cross the river (it’s the first bridge to cross) and follow the “Var” but on his left side, all along through the industrial zone until the village of “Le Broc”. Follow the road, straight away, and you’ll notice that it will become much smaller. When the main road is becoming a little road, after the first curve, you’ll see a little road going to the right into the woods. Take it and follow this little narrow road (about 10 min) until you get to a car park. Then you must walk a bit, along the little river “Esteron” to find the place you want to lay down and enjoy the beauty of the river.

Long road, but it’s really worth of! It’s quiet, very few people are there, it’s fresh, the water is clear and refreshing, the landscape is simply amazing, wild enough to have the impression to be in another world… The river offers you some great places to bath, to jump from rocks in blue deep water, to enjoy the natural “Jacuzzi” and bubbles from the little waterfalls…. well, it’s almost like a paradise!!! A must seen place!!!

Stunning images, it looks like Heaven on Earth! I would love to find this the next time I go to France.
