Warren Dunes State Park lies on the Western side of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula on the shores of Lake Michigan. The most well known features of the 1,952 acre park are the large dunes including Mt. Fuller, Pikes Peak, and Mt. Edwards, and Tower Hill which is 240 feet (73 meters) above the lake.

On the day I visited, two storms rolled through the area on a very windy afternoon. When the storms broke and the sky cleared, I climbed the highest dune, Tower Hill. The dune was dotted with people climbing up and tumbling down the large hill. When I did reach top I was impressed by the sweeping views of the beach below. And in the far distance on the opposite shore I could even see the skyline of Chicago.
