Pai & Pang Aung located in Mae Hong Sorn province, north of Thailand. Pai is a very very small town, with a view of lots of mountain around. It is the place where you can relax, enjoy beautiful views & cool weather (in winter from November to February), recharge your energy or even for a nice honeymoon trip. If you like activities, consider trekking, row a boat in a river, go to a cave just outside Pai in 10 minutes, or just walking to only one market in town with lots of stuffs to buy e.g., postcards made by hand (from local and some foreigners), souvenirs or enjoy eating & have some coffee in a fashionable pub and bar. For traveling cost and place to stay, trust me! it’s very cheap, 50-80 US dollar you can find a nice one. Pang Aung is located in a small area of development project for Thai rural people initiated by our King Rama 9. It does not has any building not even a hut, so the only way you can stay is sleep in a tent (bring your own or use a renting service). It is very cold in a winter, around 3 – 10 Celsius, with lots of fog in a morning. Almost forgot to mention that Pang Aung is located on top of a mountain, very high one, with a view of small dam in center.
In short, they are “Must Go” places if you plan to visit Thailand.
