Schloss Bückeburg- Bückeburg Castle

Do you know Princess Lilly? She was the one who married our prince, Fürst Alexander zu Schaumburg- Lippe. Now they got divorced and the Duke lives with his new wife in a beautiful water- castle in Bückeburg. This castle was first mentioned in 1304 and was remodeled a few times after (1560 in style of Weser- Renaissance, 1601 in Italian style and 1695 a baroque hall).
The local royals lost their castle in 1918 and after World War 2, the Royal Air Force used the castle as headquarters till 1958. Now most parts are open for public, so you can go there (only with a leader that costs 3 or 5 €) daily. Generally you are not allowed to take photos, I guess. But we as lomographers are fast and nobody will know that you took one! :)
I used the open castle at “Landpartie”, a big selling party in and around the building, to take a few rolls. “Sorry, no photos, please!” was replied with “but I don’t use a flash”. But that only for indoor – shots. Outdoors you can do whatever you want. Go to the bridge to take shots of the statues made by Adrian de Vries, go to the park, take pictures of the castle with its reflection on the water, go to the park – café to drink a coffee, go to Mausoleum (a big grave that is in use), go to Hofreitschule (a riding school with horse – shows http://www.die-hofreitschule.de) or through the city of Bückeburg with a giant church.
