Maria Cristina Falls (Iligan City)
written by oliebeer on July 28th, 2008 , one comment (1 vote)

Maria Cristina falls is the crowning glory of the country’s City of Majestic Waterfalls – Iligan City. It is sometimes called as the “twin falls” as the flow is separated by a rock at the brink of the waterfalls. I was lucky to be able to shoot the falls with it’s water at full force. The 320-feet high waterfalls is the primary source of power for the city and the entire Mindanao region of CARAGA. The Maria Cristina Hydroelectic Power Plant generates hydroelectric power from the waterfalls.

Iligan City is located in the Northeastern part of Mindanao, Philippines and facing Iligan Bay. The fastest and most convenient way to get to iligan would be to take a plane to Cagayan de Oro City. There are regular flights to Cagayan de Oro daily from Manila, Cebu and Davao.
