La coulée verte des Amidonniers
written by misskhali on July 28th, 2008 (0 votes)

La coulée verte is a sort of path parallel to the “rue des Amidonniers” where I lived in Toulouse. As I saw on obsolete plans of the town, there was a brook there. It has been converted into a lovely walk with trees, grass, benches, playground, and so on. Many children play there on Wednesday afternoon while parents are chatting.

I use to go by when I went downtown or to the university. This is a very calm place. You can be off civilization for about ten minutes. No cars, almost no noise – except Wednesday afternoon – little buildings on the left side, a tennis court and a rugby field on the right, just before the Garonne’s dike where you can see any days, at any hour and by any weather, runners and cyclists. My flat had a view on the coulée verte, and let me tell you this is really pleasant to wake up with birds… Even if sometimes you want to kill some because you are working hard, inside, and they are outside, singing like crazy on their trees.
