Voodoo Spiritual Temple (New Orleans)

We went on an old time cemetery tour in New Orleans then our guide dropped us off at this weird spiritual center on rampart in a sketchy ass section of town. We go in and the place is a wet mess, stuff just everywhere in the gift shop, all dusty. Then this wacky priestess takes us in her backyard and into what was another building and it was a big room just filled with crap and rolled up money and candles and what not.
So priestess Miriam just starts talking all crazy about Paulie Shore for like a half hour and then there was a hippie couple there and they had a kid that they were letting be free and he was just running around knocking crap over, it was awesome… when i got home from my trip my mom asked me what i did and i said oh we went to this stupid place with a wacky voodoo lady who was just talking out her ass and then my mom was like oh i went on that tour and that lady was the best. Also in the 19 teens Louis Armstrong got arrested in front of this place for shooting off a gun then he had to go to kid jail and formed his first jazz band… although this temple and Miriam wasn’t there then.
