Ginučiai village

This is the place, which can be called the best possible place to rest. The village Ginučiai is very small, maybe about 20-30 houses, but still this is one of the most popular places between the people who seek calm and relaxing place for their holidays. The village is situated in the national park of Aukstaitija (one of the districts in Lithuania), that is why there are a lot of lakes near it, rivers, hills (where there were castles long time ago).
What is best – it has a place, called starting place for canoeing. You can start your trip here with the rented canoe from the small river, which goes straight into one lake, then into another and so on. The result – a long journey around the big place of north-east Lithuania, which is know as the place of lakes. Or you can start your river-tour from another place and end here in Ginučiai. What is more, in this place there is a small museum, cafes, boat rentals, even the Bee museum, where you can find all the history about honey-making in Lithuania. Well, if you seek for some really calm place to relax and rest, this is probably one of the best, as you come 1 with the nature, not the wild parties or drunk people in the streets of the resorts… Just think of wild berries, mushrooms you can chase during your free time, walk around the hills with a lot of old national treasures like castle leftovers, huge trees that make your dreams come true, huge grass and so on …
