Freedom Monument (Riga)
written by mantozauras on July 21st, 2008 (1 vote)

The Freedom monument is located in Riga. It is one of the famous symbols of Latvia. This monument honors soldiers killed during the Latvian War of Independence.

This monument became the symbol during the fight with communistic Soviet regime in l987. It is located in the center of Riga in the Brivibas Street. It is very easy to find it going from the bus station through old town of Riga. Also it is interesting that there are soldiers who are guarding this monument. They stand without any move :)
