The Beautiful Sunny Island of Aruba

Bonbini! Welcome as they say in Aruba. I love this island. It’s a great place for a vacation from the major city life. The beaches are crystal clear and the locals are amazing. We went in December, which is in the off-season, and I would definitely recommend that! The island is not that busy and there aren’t many tourists around so you’ll actually get a feel for how the island really is.

There are many things that you must do while you’re here. First, you should go snorkeling and do it by going out on a catamaran. There are several ship wrecks to see and even one that is partially sticking out of the water! So bring your frogeye and make sure the batteries are loaded. You can also just go snorkeling off the beach but to see the ship wrecks, it would be a really, really long swim off the coast. Your best bet is to just enjoy the ride on the catamaran or a boat or something.

The second thing you should do is parasail! This was the first time I’d ever done it and it’s addictive! The view of the island is breathtaking from so high. I, however, didn’t take a camera with me while para sailing up in the air but next time I surely will. I think I would use the Frogeye because you can secure it to your wrist and just in case they dunk you in the water, your shots are safe and waterproof. The last thing you must do while you’re here is take a tour of the island on an ATV. Our tour guide took my husband and I on a private tour and it was the best way to see the island. Driving along the shore where other cars and jeeps can’t easily get it to is just the neatest thing! We also drove to a small church, an old gold mine and be advised: it’s a rocky drive but super fun! Also, bring a waterproof bag to keep your cameras in case a shower catches you by surprise (like with me!).

Oh and one more thing, be sure to visit the website to see all the other things to do like visiting the California Lighthouse, shopping and stuff.
