Teotihuacán (Estado De México)

Teotihuacan, meaning “city of gods” was one of the first (and biggest) cities of America, it was mysteriously abandoned by its inhabitants, there are many possible reasons for the desertion of Teotihuacan but they are still theories.

This huge archaeological site is just part of the original city, and it’s really impressive, there are several pyramids, the most known ones are the pyramid of the sun and the pyramid of the moon, there is a long street that crosses the place called “Calzada de los Muertos“ (street of the dead) and there are several other buildings like temples, palaces and houses for example. Teotihuacan was declared world heritage in 1987, like Xochimilco.

Outside the site, there are several restaurants, one next to the other where you can eat; the restaurants have staff outside with adds of the place and they will shout and beg you to go to their restaurant, sometimes they’ll run after your car a little; its rather funny, a bit embarrassing though, specially if your dad drives up and down the restaurants’ road three times and then leaves.
