Hello there, height lovers! I am just in love with Slovakian Tatras, to be precise – the High Tatras, or as the natives call them Vysokye Tatry. These mountains are situated in the north of the country, and right near the mountain there is a small road (called the route of love, or just Nr.537). On that road there are a lot of relaxation and tourism towns, often beloved by winter sports lovers, but during the summer (or even spring) you can still find a lot to do there.
If you’re in Slovakia, head north to Tatranska Lomnica town, find a cable car and get up to Skalnate Pleso (if not mistaken). You can find snow there even during the late spring, but that is not your arrival place yet. You will see a red cable car coming right from the mountains – that’s the only way up to the highest above sea level post office in Europe, or just to the mountain peak, called Lomnicky Stit. Around 15-20 people can stay at one time, because it is a very small place – only the bar (which is the post office as well) and 15 meters long terrace outside the building. Just be careful – you can not see the land from up there and if you fall over the small hence, lifeguards will spend several days finding you.
What’s more, during the summer you can find a beautiful panoramas from there, that did not come true for us, during the spring – too many clouds. Anyway, it’s shocking cool and one of the places, that I call MUST_BE_SEEN. Check the pics!
