Welcome to the most exciting apartment in Helsinki Villa 14th – two floor wooden house with big balcony with view to the water. Authentic interior of old furniture, wallpapers and smell from the 1920’s, 1960’s and some probably – still from the 19th century.
This villa has small secret doors to the kitchen we found it in two days. The only ghosts there are other people from another 4 rooms, the artists from all around the world with their own different life stories as this Villa itself. You may feel it – it’s so calm, peaceful and charming inside, but looks like ghostly from outside between the leafless trees.
You may take different pictures – make the antique furniture photo session, the view of Helsinki from the balcony, expressions of people you meet there, the mood in your room or catch the real ghost at night. Definitely it will make your stay unforgettable and film full of colourful experience.
Short comment: Villa 14th belongs to government of Helsinki and it is now artist residency. The interiors of 2 rooms at the first floor are original, on the 2nd floor, where we lived probably left only authentic furniture and wallpapers. The whole interior system has changed a little bit. I would say it is less deco elements. The house was built late 19th century for the man who worked in a railway station so it is 15 min from it. He lived with the family on top floor and the first floor was left for rent for other 4 families. It has 4 new entrances for each room. And some information is also available here:
