The Waterway

It was Saturday, September 22nd, when my roommate Tommy (Lomo username: tombagel77) the overall and absolute “who the hell” winner and I made our way through London. Starting at the Lomo Hotel at Russel Square Station, we made our way up to Abbey Road.

A guy we asked for the way told us that little Venice (“it is quite close” haha) would be nice to walk around, eat and take pictures. So we walked there, we walked and walked and walked and it seemed our walk was endless. Arriving there we decided to go to a restaurant that was shown on a map. We passed, had a look at the menu and the shocking prices made us go on, although we were really knocked out.

A little further we saw a sign showing “The Waterway”. We decided to have a look what it might be and saw a terrace totally crowded with people having lunch in their brake. Of course everybody sat outside, the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Tommy asked how long it would take to get a seat outside and we should have to wait 45 minutes only to get a seat. Hunger and paining feet made us so desperate we decided to go in. And that was the best decision of the day. We got water, self-made bread and it was such a nice interior.

Both of us ordered a Caesar Salad (GREAT!!!) and were shooting some images: like Tommy and his cameras, Stephan and his cameras and people around. The restaurant is separated into three parts: the outside, a kind of lounge with sofas and so on and the restaurant itself. Lounge and restaurant are separated with glass and wood, so you can see who is sitting next to you.

I realized there was somebody moving next to me when I finished my salad. A little girl set next bench waiting for her food. So she was kidding around, joking with me, making strange faces, hiding behind her mum and so on. Funny place! It was clear for me that this place is a Lomo location. We had food, got back some energy and we were asking for the way again that would lead us to Baker Street. The owner of The Waterway asked why we took so many images and we told him we are members of Lomographic World Congress and he was amazed. Friends of him (or himself) are into Lomography, too. He gave us cards and we made our way through London.
