The Parc des Bastions

The park I prefer in my hometown Geneva is, doubtless, the Parc des Bastions. Located in the heart of the city, it is our genevan Central Park. In the park, you will find the University, the famous Mur des Réformateurs and the very trendy Café des Bastions. Students, nature-lovers, big families, old couples and young lovers love it.

You’ll find old trees, magical fountains, secret passages and mysterious statues. In autumn and winter, the park is quietly asleep, dogs and snow are its only companions. In springtime, though, the park will wake up. Garden parties, pic nics with friends, shy trees starting to get green. In summer, you’ll see huge ice-cream cornets, small cappuccinos, children in swimsuits and students pretending they’re studying when they’re actually napping on the grass. You will see young children in the Bac à Sable, loving couples enjoying the Café’s platform, bikes everywhere. And then, you will feel the Park’s heart, beating… All year along.

The Park has no website but you can easily find descriptions on the Internet. Once you’re in Geneva, you can go to the Park by taking buses no 3, 5, 12, 16, 17 (get off at Place Neuve). Enjoy !
