This is one of this great city’s truly secret places, there to reward the aimless wanderer! So no touristy descriptive pictures here! A barren wasteland hidden behind the old tramway depot (at one time appropriately a transport museum but now predictably another arts venue) has been reclaimed by nature with respectful and loving care.
It’s something to stumble across in joy and by complete chance as you venture through the dingy “Tramway” and its café full of screaming weans. With its refusal to play the “visitor attraction” game, it’s very much a well loved part of the neighborhood which equally rewards the curious camera toting tourist. It meets the needs of the local folk for a calm space whilst not obliterating the memory of Glasgow’s industrial past.
Leave a wish on the wishing tree before you go and return to the bustle of Pollokshields, one of the city’s most interesting and ethnically diverse areas!
We couldn’t help spotting that a couple of the PussInBoots gang (www.lomohomes.com/PussInBoots) “Keanu and Sweetpea” had been up to no good though!
