Stockholm’s archipelago - Stockholms Skärgård
written by azurblue on May 9th, 2008 (1 vote)

Although living in a city endowed with numerous green spaces, the inhabitants of Stockholm aspire only to one thing, as soon as the beautiful season returns: live like a Robinson, in an old wooden hut on an island.

They have the choice: 24 000 islands extend east of the Swedish capital. There, in the shade of fir trees, near the rocks of stoneware, they can benefit of the life in open air: camping, fishing, picking of wild berries, and even bathing and getting tan.

These pics were made in Finnhamn – http://www.finnhamn.se/english/
There’s a little shop where you can buy food for a picnic and a very nice
Youth Hostel here if you want to stay there for few nights.
How to get there: you’ll find the boat company for Finnham on the warf near
National Museum in Stockholm.
