Stams in Tirol

If you are a brave and courageous human and witches or wizards can’t harm you, then it is right for you to go to the oak forest in Stams / Tirol.
To reach the oak forest you just have to take the slow train coming from Innsbruck and walk up to the forest which everybody knows here.
Another possibility is to go there by bike – it’s a popular trail for bikers.
When you are there for the first time it’s possible that you don’t see the wood with all the trees but if you take a further look you will discover all the special things growing and flowing inside this amazing and apparently impenetrable forest. Very impressing are – as the woods name tells us – the giant and ancient oak trees which are growing here since maybe hundreds of years! But you can also find lots of other trees like beech trees, pines, hazel bushes etc. There is also a little rivulet to discover. Although it is not easy to get down to it – everywhere are bushes and roots and it’s a little bit cliffy – it will be worth the trouble! But be careful -sometimes Nymphs living in the water come and bewitch you. Then you are lost forever!
