Sri Ganesha Hindu Temple

I recently made a visit to the Sri Ganesha Hindu temple in Nashville, TN and it was quite the experience. The amazing and unique building stands a top a hill off on the side of the road and it is so unlike anything in that area that it is impossible to miss.

I recently made a visit to the Sri Ganesha Hindu temple in Nashville, TN and it was quite the experience. The amazing and unique building stands a top a hill off on the side of the road and it is so unlike anything in that area that it is impossible to miss.

I stood for a few minutes outside taking pictures of and admiring the architecture before entering. Once inside I took my shoes off and the tour guide told us about the basics of Hinduism, which was fascinating. Upstairs in the temple are very cool statues of some of the Hindu deities, the biggest being Ganesha, the half man, half elephant that rides on a mouse.

There was a priest washing the statue and praying and there was fruit in front of the statues as gifts. It was a very interesting experience and the temple had such a peaceful feeling, I highly recommend anyone go there whether or not you know anything about Hinduism.
