Saturday Salcedo Market

Residents of Makati, particularly those living in the condominiums around in Salcedo Village, have been enjoying the Saturday Salcedo Market since it began in May 2004. The parking lot beside Velasquez Park becomes an outdoor food market from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday.
I’ve been to this market several times and the place is always filled with people shopping for a variety of items such as organic vegetables, fruits, fresh herbs, flowers, native delicacies, meats, bottled sauces and spreads. I don’t have time to cook at home so usually I just go there to meet some friends for brunch or lunch and just look around.
Cooked food and baked goodies from home kitchens and restaurants are available in the market so we just buy what we want, then go to the dining area and enjoy our meal. Grocery carts are available for those planning to buy a lot of items. There is also a children playground next to the market. And across the street, you can go to either Starbucks or Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.
