You are in the dry Californian desert. Nothing else surrounds you than dusty hills, sandy rocks and a lonesome landscape. Some colorful wildflowers interrupt the barren countryside dominated by cacti and the famous palm trees stick out of the wide land. Nothing to hear apart some scattered coyotes but the never ending sound of silence.
The mornings are longer here they say. And when the strong sun comes up you already wallow at the poolside, blinded by the sparkling water surface. Ready for a smooth dive into the cool wet to escape from the boiling heat.
Time for a siesta in the room on the queen-sized bed.
Next to the true blue Olympic pool is the main building. The hotel was constructed in the California mid-century design in 1958 and the lobby is opened to the evening light and built in desert modern style. A while ago this desert-oasis was a hot spot for Marilyn Monroe, Marlon Brando, Dean Martin and other famous socialites. They flew in private planes to escape the adoring public.
At the latest when warm desert wind is flattering your skin, you feel like a forgotten movie star. Enjoy your Margaritas and when the sun finally goes down in blooming shades you have the best photo light ever.
