Nasher Sculpture Garden

If you're a fan of sculptures, this is the place for you! The Nasher Sculpture garden at the Dallas Museum of Art is a lomographer's paradise. On a bright, sunny day, even the original fisheye can enjoy itself! Thursday evenings relax in the cool shadow of downtown with a bottle of wine, a close friend or just your lomo and settle in for some sweet jazz and excellent people watching.

The sculptures themselves range from massive steel girders to small fountains in the inner walls. Weekend mornings are the best time to go and be sure and stop in the café for an excellent lunch. They also have varying selections of classic works inside (Picasso was there during my lomo-visit). If you find yourself in downtown Dallas, you MUST, I repeat, MUST stop into the Nasher Sculpture Garden for a good solid hour of lomo fun! When I shot these photos, I was supposed to meet a girl there. It was a lovers’ rendezvous, if you will. But she never showed up. And in the end, it was not meant to be. So there I was, a bright Saturday morning, my new fisheye in hand, a few rolls of fuji velvia and no one to share it with. Enough about me. What can you see? Some of the most amazing sculptures Texas has to offer. A 200 foot pole with life-like statues of people walking up to the sky. A group of headless men, a huge steel sculpture, fountains and flowers. This place has it all for a beautiful day in downtown Dallas.
