Mont Saint Michel St Malo and Lille

After my Super Sampler decided that it wouldn't work in South Africa, I ripped the film out and put it in my new Fisheye (a few months later) and set off! (Note elephants seem to be now a feature at the Mont Saint Michel).

These shots are from a short holiday in May 2007, when the sun was out and where I let my parents tell me what they wanted to do in France, yet, not tell me what they wanted to do all at the same time. They seemed to lose their sense of self and any decision making fell on me.

I took them to The Mont Saint Michel, an island off the coast of Brittany. This was the only place that they wanted to really see. We fought tourists and hordes of kids to see it. The next day was a trip to St Malo where the view from the town, it was more interesting to me than the actual town.

I especially liked the pylons that litter the beaches. Finally back home in Lille, we took little tours of the park around the Museum of Modern Art (Ville Neuve D’Ascq), and wandered the streets of Lille. Nearly always cloudy in the north of France, but we generally had good luck, and I had the Lomo with me to capture it, despite our non existent summer.
